The World Cup

Today, I’m in charge of sharing a story from around the world. …so because I’ve been watching the FIFA World Cup, I wanted to talk about soccer around the world! If you haven’t been watching, you are surely missing out on some major sports action.

Although there is obvious competition amongst the teams, the participants from around the world show camaraderie. At the beginning of the game, instead of walking onto the field from separate sides, they walk in together. Also, they exchange country banners to show good sportsmanship before the coin toss. Even at the end of the game, players exchange jerseys as a sign of respect for the opposing team and players. Overall, the positive attitude amongst these players sets a great example to the sports arena.

I find it amazing that fans from all over the world show loyalty to their favorite teams. It’s fun to watch the team spirit from countries around the world. Here are some photos I found while browsing online:

Those are just a handful of the photos that I dug up while looking at World Cup fans. Although these fans are from all different parts of the world, they all come together for their love of soccer (futbol)! That, in my opinion, is quite impressive.

Anyway, I’m sure you are wondering, “Sarah, how does this relate to scrapbooking?!”

Well, that’s an easy one to answer.

I find that scrapbooking is very much an international hobby. It really doesn’t matter what part of the globe you are from – – one can scrapbook as long as they have a pair of scissors, paper, and adhesives. :) It’s seriously as simple as that!

Now, pull out your Kiki Art supplies while watching a game or two of the World Cup!

Hugs,

sarah.

    Sarah,
I’m not a soccer (futbol) fan, but I love the world cup. One of the reasons is the fans… they are so pationate… have you seen them cry?,either because they are sad, or because they are happy.
I remember the last time México, hosted the world cup, they uses this phrase, “The world is united by a football”
    Love your post!

ps. Congrats to all my Spainiards friends, for their victory against Honduras today! (june 21)
